The Medspa Boom: Why Growth Isn't the Same as Health

The medspa industry is booming. In the US alone, it has passed $17 billion in annual revenue, with more than 10,000 locations and around a thousand new ones opening every year.
On paper, it's one of the most exciting markets in the world for entrepreneurs.
I've lived the other side of that boom. In Paris, I built a network of aesthetic centers that the press wrote about. Fully booked. Growing fast. And still struggling to pay suppliers, machines and staff at the end of the month.
A growing market hides fragile businesses.
When demand is strong, almost anything works for a while. Clients come. Revenue comes. And it's easy to believe the business is healthy because the calendar is full.
The real risks are invisible from the outside.
Financed equipment that must be paid every month, no matter what. Teams that are hard to recruit and easy to lose. Regulations that change. Competition opening two streets away. And the legal reality that when a client buys a treatment from you, you are responsible for what happens next.
The next phase won't reward the fastest. It will reward the best built.
As the market matures, the medspas that last will be the ones with clear processes, solid finances, trained teams, strong protection for their clients, and founders who aren't running on empty.
That's exactly why I created KEEL: to help medspa founders and leaders build businesses that grow without falling apart. And it's why I'm building Uko: because protecting clients is protecting the business.
The boom is real. Just make sure you're building something that survives it.
